The Fernandina Beach Pride Scholarship celebrates service to the LGBTQ community. It aims to improve economic mobility for LGBTQ and ally students from Nassau County by funding college/vocational school scholarships. Recipients will be eligible for one-time awards of up to $2,000 paid to the order of an accredited post-secondary vocational/technical school, college or university and credited to the student’s account.

A special thank you to our sponsors and donors who help us create this fabulous annual opportunity, which has awarded $36,000 to Nassau County high school students since 2020!

The scholarship helped me with my first semester of college, making the transition easier as I continued. I was able to save my money that would have been used for books and housing in order to get groceries, self care, etc. I am very grateful for the scholarship!

  • A high school senior from Nassau County

  • An LGBTQ or ally student who has demonstrated service to the LGBTQ community or strong desire to serve the LGBTQ community

  • Acceptance at an accredited vocational/trade school or college/university

We place great emphasis on your passion for education and demonstrated service to the LGBTQ community and/or desire to serve the LGBTQ community. Multiple applicants may be selected; the final number will depend on applicant volume and qualifications, as well as available funds.

The Fernandina Beach Pride Scholarship provides up to $2,000 once and may be used to cover your tuition, fees, on-campus housing, or books at an accredited non-profit academic institution in the upcoming academic year.

The Pride Scholarship has helped me ... feel seen and recognized for my knowledge, skills, and potential. As college becomes more expensive, this scholarship will helped relieve some of the stress by supporting the cost of my tuition and books.

Being the first child and grandchild in my family to attend college, this support means everything. Thank you for believing in me and helping make my dreams more possible.

Winning this scholarship has inspired me to continue my education journey whilst being myself and supporting those around me. I plan to use this scholarship for my tuition and inspire others to not be ashamed or scared to be themselves. I am able to continue perusing my love for science with this scholarship and hopefully learn how to help animals and the environment, as my dream is to become a wildlife biologist so I can care for animals while exploring the wonders of the world.
