Fernandina Beach Pride’s Mission Statement
Our mission is to create an inspiring and dedicated culture of support across our diverse community. We encourage fellowship and support among participating businesses, professionals, individuals, and charitable pursuits in the LGBTQ+ and allied communities. We foster communication, appreciation, celebration, education, and mutual support among LGBTQ+ persons and the allied communities of Nassau County. Our aim is to provide positive role models in the LGBTQ+ and allied communities through mutual support and respect. We seek to unite the people of Nassau County in promoting the history, diversity, and future prosperity of the LGBTQ+ Community.
Expectations of Board Members:
Work as a part of a cohesive team with common goals
Share skills and expertise
Dedicate time to attend quarterly Pride Board meetings
Respect and support the majority decisions of the Board
Volunteer and assist in Pride programs and activities, include fundraising efforts
Participate actively in Board meetings, actions, fundraisers and public events
Contribute in some manner, either through time and talent or financially, to Fernandina Beach Pride’s fundraising and development efforts
Take initiative and offer to lead on certain tasks, assignments, or committees
Represent all those whom this organization serves and not a particular geographic area or interest group
Remain aware of the activities that are planned and make yourself available to participate
Declare conflicts of interest as it pertains to your position on the Board and abstain from voting when appropriate
Help to ensure that the Fernandina Beach Pride image is well-maintained, financially secure, growing and always operating in the best interest of the community we serve
Oppose prejudice in society at large and within the LGBTQ+ and allied communities on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity
